Winter Mêlée 2020
The first competition of the year, The Winter Mêlée was played on the Sixth of March in sunshine but with a cool breeze blowing across the pistes at Broome Manor.
Twenty four players lined up at the start and played three rounds to thirteen points, with a time limit of 45 minutes per round. Much close play followed and at lunch, 5 players were on the leader board with 26 points. However, after the third round, only two survived to gain the maximum of 39 points - Keith Richards and Peter Edwards.
A one-end 'sudden death' playoff was played, from which Peter emerged the winner.
Thanks are due to Dick Hardy for his hard work in organising the event and for recording the scores. Also to Peter Latham for acting as players registrar and referee, Nikki for presenting the prize and Chris Valters for taking the photographs.
